Renault and Nissan registered a powerful recovery in March 2026 in the automobile market in India. The rate of sales growth has been tremendous in both brands that can be explained by the new models that are under development and renovated product lines. As the usage of SUVs and MPVs is on the rise, both Renault and Nissan are gaining their foothold in the Indian market.

The Sales of Renault in 2026 Will Be Put on Hold in March

In March 2026, Renault India registered the astonishing year-on-year (YOY) and month-on-month (MoM) growth of total sales of 5046 units indicating a growth of 77 percent and 44 percent, respectively.

The increase in the sales of the old models e.g. Triber and Kiger can explain this trend as well as by the introduction of the new Renault Duster.

Renault Sales Breakdown, by Model

  • Renault Triber: 2,011 units (30% increase on an annual basis)
  • Renault Duster (New): 1,402 units
  • Renault Kiger: 1,184 cars (55 yearly growth)
  • Renault Kwid: 449 units

Renault triber was still the most sold car within the brand and the new Duster made a considerable contribution towards the growth in sales.

Kiger SUV has experienced an enormous growth, too, indicating a rising demand in compact SUV market.

Nissan Sales March 2026 – Gravite Shoots Up

Nissan India was also performing well with a sale of 4,408 units in March 2026 and this was 76 percent higher than that of May 2026.

The biggest attraction of the year was the launching of the new Nissan Gravite MPV that contributed much to the firm in terms of sales.

Nissan Sales Breakdown (Model-wise)

  • Nissan Gravite: 2,375 units
  • Nissan Magnite: 2,033 units

The Gravite MPV was a game-changer to Nissan and the Magnite SUV continued with a steady demand, though with a minimal drop over February.

Market Growth & Future Plans

Both Nissan and Renault have become top 10-11 auto makers in India and their recent outcome portrays a tendency of slowing down growth.
