Honda India New Models 2030 Strategy Overview

After subdued initiatives in the last five years, Honda to kick-start with a significant product offensive in the next five years.
Honda has been targeting India in its quest to attain a new market with a high growth potential, and low competition among Chinese car manufacturers. In its increased interest in the market, the company has established India project team at the global level.

Honda already has ten launch plans for 2026-2030 which encompass new models, mid-cycle updates, and completely different models. It has not yet revealed the full roadmap, but we already have a decent idea which significant launches can be expected to happen.

Honda Prelude Hybrid Sports Coupe Launch Details

Honda will roll out the Prelude, the new hybrid sports couple, a substitute of the old generation Civic Coupe in the first half of next year. It will be imported into the company as a CBU in Japan and the company might sell it in a range of 70-80 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The Prelude also uses the same platform as the recent Civic Hybrid, and to the markets already served by Honda, analysts have also condemned it as being underpowered and overpriced and its apparent lack of a manual transmission.

Honda ZR-V Hybrid SUV India Launch Timeline

Most probably, in the fourth quarter of 2026, Honda will introduce the new ZR-V, a new VW Tiguan competitor. This will be imported by the company as a CBU, which will be based in Japan and its price will be quoted between 50 and 55 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).

Hybrid Powertrain Performance and Mileage Figures

The hybrid powertrain of the Prelude and ZR-V will be the same, which is a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated direct injection petrol-powered engine. The acceleration of the Prelude to 0100km/h has been 8.2 seconds, maximum speed has been 188 km/h and WLTC has been 23.6km/l. The ZR-V Hybrid has a 0 to 100 km/h of 7.8 seconds but has a maximum top speed of 173 km/h and achieves a WLTC mileage of 22.1km/l.

Honda EV, City and Elevate Future Launch Roadmap

Honda also has a facelift on the Elevate and the second facelift of the fifth-generation City. The company will probably introduce the new Elevate, and the new City in the second half of the year of 2026. Honda will introduce the first EV in India in early 2027, the 0 Alpha. It will be a rival of Hyundai Creta Electric, but it will be built and created as an EV. It will be sold by the company with two options of battery pack both of which feature CATL-manufactured LFP cells imported into Indonesia.

Honda will probably launch its 0 SUV, a D-segment car, within a year of the 0 Alpha launch; this model will be produced in the U.S. The 0 SUV will be a CBU importation and may well have a price of between 70 and 80 lakh rupees (ex showroom).

Honda will release the next-gen City in the first half of 2028 based on a new platform that is called PF2. The company will have a hybrid version of this model and substantially localise it to make it competitive in pricing. The PF2 platform will also introduce a seven-seat Honda SUV to India, the next-generation Honda Elevate and probably a sub-4 metre SUV.
