Suzuki Gixxer 250cc portfolio includes some of the most underrated tractors available in India today. Two of these motorcycles have now been recalled due to rear brake assembly problems. Buyers will be attended by the company and the defect will be corrected free of extra cost on the affected motorcycles.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 Recall Given out by one of the top 2W manufacturers in India, Suzuki has always been popular for its scooters such as Access and Burgman Street. The Gixxer lineup from Yamaha is its answer to Bajaj’s Pulsar, TVS’ Apache and Yamaha’s FZ and is available in 150cc and 250cc power variants. The larger 250cc line includes Gixxer 250 (street naked), Gixxer SF 250 (supersport) and V-Strom SX (adventure tourer). The 250cc Gixxers are recalled as there are issues with the rear brake assembly of these motorcycles.

Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 (a total of 5,145 units) have been recalled. The affected motorcycles were made between February 2022 and June 2025. Owners can use this timeline to look up their VIN numbers or enquire at their nearest service centre.
Gixxer 250 2025: The company has stated that this is due to the use of rear brake assemblies used for V-Strom SX on Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250, which leads to the rear pads and the brake discs making incorrect contact. This improper contact between pads and discs will result in uneven wear and loss of braking performance.

What next? Now that the recall is started, the service centre will contact their nearest customers and book an appointment. Suzuki will replace brake assemblies free of charge to the users. So far, both Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer 250 are reported to be underrated motorcycles in India and haven’t done very well in terms of sales either. Both motorcycles are powered by a 249cc single cylinder, SOHC, 4V, oil-cooled engine that can produce approximately 26 bhp and 22 Nm rated to a 6-speed transmission.
