Yamaha Motor India has launched the EC-06, the all new electric scooter meant to be used at urban and interurban level. The EC-06 is the second EV to be added to the Aerox E in the Yamaha first EV line in India and this is an important milestone in the sustainable mobility of the brand. The deliveries will begin sometime in the next quarter, and the prices will also be unveiled during that period.
Built Around a New Generation of Commuters
With appealing elements of tech-savvy riders, the EC-06 would incorporate the Yamaha-developed performance DNA that is crafted into clean and futuristic design and practical functionality and place the model as a smart and stylish electric commuter to match the lifestyles of the modern age. During the same event, Yamaha has introduced XSR155 and FZ Rave motorcycles.

Design and Styling – Futuristic and Functional
The Yamaha EC-06 is identified as a well rounded and sleek futuristic-looking bike that has the brand concept of Ride Easy which is designed on the active Lifestyle concept. It has a high-centred gravity position that improves agility and doesn’t be shy in a serious traffic jam, as well as the horizontal core design that provides balance and stability. The low flotation and clean body lines of the scooter make the scooter look modern and geared towards individuality and functional features equally. Yamaha claims that the EC-06 has been made in India with a world perspective with simplicity, practicality and premium style in a small package.
Powertrain and Performance
At its core, the EC-06 features a 4.5 kW electric motor with a peak power output of 6.7 kW with a fixed battery of high capacity of 4 kWh. This is a combination that provides immediate torque and smooth acceleration and is ideal in city travel and low-length highways.
The scooter offers a real-life range of 160 km on a full charge, which is one of the highest in its category. It has three riding options Eco, Standard and Power, which gives the rider an opportunity to customize the performance to their requirements, and there is a reverse option that is a convenience to narrow urban areas. It can be charged simply using a normal home plug-in charger and only takes about 9 hours to fully charge it.
Features and Connectivity
The EC-06 has been loaded with numerous features by Yamaha to make it more convenient and safe. The EC-06 can also be easily integrated into the Yamaha connected ecosystem, enabling a rider to keep track of the vehicle information, charge status, and service appointments online. Such features as: front and rear disc brakes, full LED light system (headlight, tail-light, indicators), colour LCD display of essential ride metrics, SIM-based telematics device allowing real time connectivity and remote access with a dedicated app, under-seat storage of 24.5 litres a day make it practical.

Designed as the Urban Trendsetter Model
The EC-06 is designed with young professionals and urban achievers as the target audience that seeks an eco-friendly but unique way of mobility. It appeals to the riders that cherish innovation, style and sustainability- and who want more than a commuter, an electric scooter. Yamaha indicates that EC-06 is a cool and trendy e-scooter that is practical with personality. Its nimble maneuverability, ergonomics, and elegant design enable it to equally be applied in the first and last-mile connectivity.
