Vietnamese EV maker VinFast is gearing up to make a big impact in India. With a massive investment of ₹4,250 crore in its upcoming Tamil Nadu facility, the brand has confirmed that local manufacturing and exports will play a huge role in its strategy. Among its line-up, the VinFast VF5 has caught a lot of attention – a premium yet budget-friendly hatchback that could take on popular cars like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Swift, and Tata Altroz in India.
First Impressions – Swift or VF5?
On the face of it, the VF5 looks like a considerable Swift facelift. The compact stance and roof design are rather familiar, as though it has borrowed the ideas of Suzuki Swift and Renault Clio. The similarity is quite evident, but with its own twist, VinFast has incorporated sharper lines and bold V logo (it reminds Vietnam) and accents of piano black.
