CV Retail Sales Oct 2025 recorded strong growth across LCV and MCV segments, with Mahindra leading OEM charts, followed by Tata, Ashok Leyland, Volvo, and Force. Full CV market performance and OEM-wise breakdown included.
1. CV Retail Sales Oct 2025 Overall Market Performance
The CV segment also recorded a robust growth in the LCV and MCV segments and a drop in the sales of the HCVs in the last month Commercial vehicle (CV) retail sales in the Indian market recorded a strong growth in October 2025. Dispatches, (dealer to customer), amounting to 1,07,841 units. This was a great growth of 17.7 percent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in comparison to sales of 91,635 units of October 2024. It also experienced high MoM of 49.52 percent in comparison to 72,124 units sold in Sept 2025.
2. CV Retail Sales Oct 2025 Demand Drivers & Segment Growth
The segment overall was fuelled by strong festivity demand, government infrastructure investment and favourable influence of new GST 2.0 tax structures. The dealers also refer to optimism over the same trend to continue till the end of 2025 due to continued marriage season, harvest inflows and benefit on the same of the recent GST policy reforms. In Oct 2024, sales recorded at 56,182 and in Sept 2025, it was 44,392 units. In the case of MCV sales, there was also a positive trend as the sales stood at 7,177 units in the previous month. This was an increase of 19.78 per cent YoY and 14.70 per cent MoM of 5,992 units and 6,257 units respectively.
3. CV Retail Sales Oct 2025 HCV & YTD Performance
In October 2025, HCV sales fell by 5.76 per cent to 27, 685 units. By the month of Oct 2024, there were 29,376 units sold. MoM sales on the other hand recovered at 21,410 units with a growth of 29.31%. Total CV sales were also on a YTD basis in which the conclusion was more positive. By the April-Oct 2025 sale units of 5,68,607 units sold in the period compared to the 5,40,617 unit sales of the period in the previous year, the growth was 5.18%. Mahindra recorded 37,188 units that is an improvement over 27,732 of October 2024 with 34.48 market share. Last Mile Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Mahindra has also been at the top of the electric CVs manufacturers in India with cumulative sales of over 3 lakh electric cars. Tata Motors had a second position with 34,838 unit sales last month. It was an increase of 30,638 units sold in Oct 2024 having a market share of 32.30. The Tata Ace Gold Plus which was launched in Sept 2025 has been well received in its segment.
4. CV Retail Sales Oct 2025 OEM-Wise Sales Breakdown
Retail sales of Ashok Leyland increased to 16,557 units last month compared to 15,904 units sales made last month last year. It nevertheless experienced a sharp loss of market share which reduced to 15.35% against 17.36% on YoY basis. It was then succeeding by VE Commercial Vehicles of sales totalfixture 7,598 units, an increase compared to the sale of 7,158 units in the month of Oct 2024. Maruti Suzuki also experienced a sharp increase in demand of their commercial car models with 6,058 units as compared to the 5, 253 unit sales of Oct 2024. Daimler sales declined to 1,871 units out of 1,903 units whereas Force Motors retail sales number rose to 1,823 units compared to 1,400 units on year to year basis. The negative demand was also experienced in the case of SML Isuzu that had 932 units sold out of 1,000 units of this 2024 last month. The addition of 976 units by other OEMs gave a total figure of 976 units in retail sales as compared to the previous 647 units in retail sales, which was added in that month of the year ago period.
