Toyota upcoming SUVs in India include the new-gen Fortuner, Hilux, Land Cruiser Prado, Urban Cruiser BEV and Hyryder facelift as part of Toyota’s plan to launch 15 new vehicles by 2030.
Toyota Upcoming SUVs in India
Toyota is projected to introduce a flock of new SUVs in the coming calendar year as part of the total plan of launching 15 new vehicles in India within the next 3 years.
The Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has been enjoying the fruits of a diversified product line in the internal market through its luxury association with Suzuki and its well-known high-end products. Redoubling its plans on the introduction of 15 new models by 2030, the Japanese motor giant is also likely to introduce up to five new cars and here is the list:
1) & 2) New Gen Hilux & Fortuner
As Toyota launches the all-new ninth-generation Hilux in the international market, focus has now shifted on the future plans of the brand in terms of its SUV activities particularly given the close links in terms of mechanism that the brand has with the Fortuner. The preview is an allusion to something more radical in the future, and it is possible to say that the next generation of Fortuner will come with a more aggressive attitude, a more aggressive visual touch and a much more updated interior design.
The new Hilux is developed around the new Toyota design philosophy of Tough and Agile, which was based on the Land Cruiser family, which provides the car with a more vertical stance, a more deft frontal profile, thinner interconnected headlamps and a squared-off fascia that should also be echoed in the upcoming Fortuner. The sheer variety of powertrain choices on display on the Hilux such as petrol and diesel, 48V hybrid and even a fully electric BEV variant gives the future Fortuner range several opportunities to follow. New Hilux might not be introduced in India until next year, but the next-generation Fortuner cannot be excluded either.
3) New Land Cruiser Prado
The new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is already grabbing much attention among foreign markets and it is expected to reach India next year in the form of a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The high-end SUV is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and 1.87 kWh hybrid battery pack based on the Toyota TNGA-F ladder-frame platform. In collaboration with an inbuilt electric motor and an 8-speed automatic transmission, the electrified powertrain produces a combined power of 326 hp.
4) Urban Cruiser BEV
Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV 2025 Brussels Motor Show.
The e Vitara by Maruti Suzuki that will be sold next month will spawn a Toyota brother in the shape of the Urban Cruiser BEV. The five-seat midsize SUV was unveiled globally in Brussels some time ago and is on the same platform as the e Vitara using battery options. It will have the charge range of over 500 km.
5) Renovated Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
The mid-cycle version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is also likely to come next year. It is more likely to receive cosmetic changes with the cabin being able to have a host of new features including Level 2 ADAS. The 1.5L mild hybrid petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine will however be maintained.
