Tata Motors Sales September 2025: Nexon, Punch, Tiago, and Harrier drive 45% YoY growth with 59,667 units sold. Nexon EV tops India’s car sales chart.
Tata motors has ascended to position No2 in OEM-wise sales, recorded high sales on the YoY and MoM in Sept 2025.
In September 2025, Tata Motors registered a high growth in sales. The company was also the second biggest seller of original equipment (OEM) with all time record sales. The changes in GST rates and the beginning of the festive season were also the factors of increased demand, which is expected to persist next several months.

In Q3 2025, Tata Motors registered 1,38,709 units of passenger vehicles sales with its unit sales increasing by 6.3 percent compared to 1,30,519 units of passenger vehicles sales in Q3 2024. Good performances by the Nexon, Tiago, Altroz and Harrier models spearheaded the growth whereas the Punch, Curvv, Safari, and Tigor experienced temporary declines.

The Nexon (including EV) was the best-seller with 49402 units, an increase of 31.7 YoY, and more than a third of total sales. The Tiago and Altroz increased by 31 and 30 per cent., respectively, with the significant demand among EV and CNG versions. The Harrier (including EV) has improved 73% YoY, with new Adventure X Edition and growing multi-powertrain strategy. At the same time, the Punch fell 18% YoY to 37,380 units, and Curvv, Safari and Tigor had fallen owing to model transitions. On the whole, the EV portfolio of Tata added approximately 26 per cent of total quarterly sales and this supports its leadership in the electric mobility market in India.

In September 2025, Tata Motors recorded a total sales of 59,667 units, which is a 45 percent YoY growth compared to the 41, 065 units sold in September 2024. The increase in MoM sales was 46 per cent of 41,001 units in August 2025. The company has also increased its share in the market to 15.8 percent compared to the 11.4 percent that it was in Sept 2024.

Tata Nexon / EV did not only top the company sales charts but also in the past month, it sold more passenger cars in India than any other car group. It performed better than Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Creta by far. The Nexon sales grew by an almost twofold on year-over-year basis to 22, 571 units sold, which is a 97 percent increase compared to last year when sales were recorded at 11, 470 units. In August, MoM sales also increased by 61 percent of the 14,004 units sold in August. At position 2 was Tata Punch with 15,891 unit sales in the previous month that has increased by 16 and 48 percent compared to previous and months respectively. Already sold 13711 units and 10704 units in Sept 2024 and August 2025 respectively. Tata Punch facelift is already under test and soon it will hit the market.
Tata Harrier Sales up 161% YoY
The Tiago had sales of almost twice its number, which amounted to 8, 322 units. This was a 97 percent YoY increase to 4, 225 units sold in Sept 2024. There was also an increase of 59 percent on Sales by MoM which was based on 5,250 units. The demand of Tata Harrier has improved tremendously. The sales have been 4,181 units in the last month and this is a 161 percent increase compared to the 1,600 units of last month the previous year. The sales of MoMs also saw a positive change up by 35 per cent of 3,087 units.
Tata Altroz came in next at No. 5. The sales were improved tremendously to 4,168 units supporting a growth of 51% YoY. All sales of MoM increased slightly by 5 per cent. as compared to sales of 3,959 units in Aug 2025. The case of Tata Safari where 2,000 units were sold last month also realized stable performance. It was 22% year on year and 34% month on month better than 1,644 units and 1,489 units sold in September and August 2024 respectively. The Curvv was the only company portfolio model to record both YoY and MoM loss. The last month registered a YoY and MoM de-growth of 67% and 8% respectively with Sales standing at 1,566 units. The sales of Tata Tigor had a positive ending with a total sale of 966 units with a YoY and MoM improvement of 8 and 20 respectively.
