Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel has been showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The new Fronx Flex Fuel variant supports up to 85% ethanol fuel (E85) and is expected to launch in India by 2026, marking a major step in Maruti Suzuki’s green mobility future.

Fronx Flex Fuel Version Showcased at Japan Mobility Show 2025
Suzuki has presented a Flex Fuel version of Fronx at the continuing show of Japan Mobility Show 2025. It can also burn up to 85% of Ethanol mixed fuel in a clean manner and thus is future proof, as Indian Government works on the options to use more Ethanol content up to 30 percent in the future.
Understanding the Fronx FFV Concept and Its Capabilities
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel At Suzuki has presented a Fronx FFV (Flex Fuel Vehicle) concept at the grand stage of Japan Mobility Show 2025, and the vehicle can run on E85 fuels with a 85 percent blend of Ethanol. India is currently in the process of switching to E10 fuel grade to E20, which is between 20 percent and 100 percent Ethanol blend in the fuel.

Fronx FFV concept can run on the fuel that has the E20 content and can also run on the fuels containing up to 85 percent of Ethanol mixture, which is the fuel in the E85. Although E85 fuels may be not so easily accessible in large-scale, these E85 capable flex fuel cars are billed as mobility solutions of the future where much uncertainty surrounds the future of Ethanol addition to the Indian market.
Technical Highlights of the Fronx Flex Fuel Variant
Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel variant displayed at Japan Mobility Show 2025, is built on standard Japan-spec Fronx powered by a 1.5L K15 Series NA Petrol engine. The major modifications with Flex Fuel version are in its fuel storage, supply and injection systems whereby the major design is to ensure that it is compatible with fuel as far as E85 blend.
Flex fuel vehicles will have more advanced ECUs, which will enable the ECU to detect the content of Ethanol in the fuel fed and will adjust engine settings accordingly. This guarantees effective burning of this Ethanol mixed fuel and get optimum allowable performance and general mileage (fuel efficiency).
India Launch Expected in 2026
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel car will probably be introduced in India in the year 2026 and will be the first in the market to dominate with 4-wheel vehicles in Flex Fuel category. India will have a lower chance of receiving the 1.5L engine into the bonnet of Fronx FFV, which will nullify tax advantages of B Segment.

Nevertheless, Brezza does not receive any B Segment tax incentives though it is a sub 4m car. Fronx Flex Fuel Variant Unveiled So and Fronx FFV with an engine of 1.5L can be an example or we can have a FFV variant powered by Z12 engine.
