Mahindra Vision S Compact SUV: Overview and Market Positioning
In 2027 the Mahindra Vision S concept in production form will be sold, based on the NU_IQ platform. The spy photographs of an immensely disguised Mahindra SUV have created speculation on what the company is about to launch in the small segment. The test mule, which is currently posed as strongly related to the Vision S concept unveiled in the recent past, has initially been mistaken to be a next-gen Bolero. The squared position, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and tight overhangs are all indications towards a Scorpio-based product.
Mahindra Vision S Compact SUV: NU_IQ Platform and Architecture
This new model is predicted to be among the first cars with Mahindra new NU_IQ monocoque platform. The architecture, which is supposed to support various SUVs in the future, is claimed to be flexible in terms of body designs, powertrains and sizes. Mahindra has already announced that its initial NU-IQ-based product will be launched in the year 2027 and the Vision S-based SUV is proving a serious contender.
Mahindra Vision S Compact SUV: Design Philosophy and Scorpio Lineage
The concept of the Vision S was actually announced in Mahindra Freedom NU event together with the Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT. The Vision S was more of a road-going SUV that would be placed below the Scorpio N in size and price range, unlike more lifestyle oriented Vision T or crossover-oriented Vision X.

The S badge has automatically elicited the discussion of a Scorpio association. Although Mahindra has not stated officially on the naming, the design clues and positioning indicate that, this SUV might be a compact expansion of the scorpio family other than a new model. It is yet to be determined whether it will carry the Scorpio name or some variation of it but the lineage factor is undeniable.
