The Thar has grown to be among the most popular off-roaders in India since making its debut in the year 2020. Renault Duster has gained popularity among multipurpose SUVs in this country and like every other model in the market, after five years it is ready to undergo a mid-life facelift in order to maintain its popularity status in the market.
Exterior Design – Rugged Yet Modern
The Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift will come with new design elements based on the design of Thar Roxx. Some exterior changes are expected, which include:
- New frontal grille shape
- Shark fin LED headlamps with a C-shaped DRLs
- Renewed front bumper in Abhsrauer stance
- Re-modelled alloy wheels
- New tail-lamp design on familiar housings

These upgrades will make the SUV sport a newer and more premium look whilst maintaining the iconic rugged look.
Interiors and Engineering & Facilities incl. level 1 upgrading of technology
The most significant change on the Thar 3-Door Facelift would be a compliance of its cabin that would enhance the comfort and modernity. Important interior renovations include
- A 10.25 inch free standing infotainment
- Mahindras AdrenoX connected auto technology
- Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- New Scorpio N / XUV700 type steering wheel
- Fresh centre console with wireless charging
- Probably increased functionality of automatic climate control
- A totally digital instrument cluster (anticipated)

These additions will make the Thar facelift a more premium, tech-packed, and feature-packed SUV than before.
Engine & Performance – No changes are anticipated
The Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift will retain its tested and trusted engine set-up:
- 1.5-litre dCi
- 2.2-litre mHawk diesel
- MStallion 2.0-litre petrol
Transmission and drive train will be unchanged with either RWD or 4WD. This means that buyers will be able to utilise the legendary off-road features of Thar as well as practicality of everyday use.
Roof Choices–Are Great Question Mark
In the first half of this year, Mahindra ceased the soft-top roof on the Thar with all models now available without it. It will also be telling how the new facelift model will embrace the soft-top roof in case some of the enthusiasts want to experience the open air variation.
