Segment Performance and YoY Sales Trend in October 2025
However, as opposed to the sales of higher capacity bikes which have had a good reception among buyers in India, the 125cc bikes have had to experience negative YoY growth, albeit with a much larger amount of total sales being recorded. This might be the signifier of a trend that buyers are shifting more to higher power and adventurous segment that they find more appealing due to their affordability and experience better riding experience with the 125cc segment contributing to the total sale of 3,72,047 units. It was a 7.82% YoY de-growth of 4,03, 607 units sold in Oct 2024. It was associated with a decrease in volume of 31, 560 units.
Top Selling 125cc Motorcycles: Honda Shine, SP 125 and Pulsar
Honda Shine + SP topped the sales list at the 1,44,372 units with an 8.90% year-on-year de-growth as compared to 1,58,471 units of October 2024. It had a share command of 38.80 percent and became the sole model in the segment to make sales of above the 1 lakh unit mark.
Bajaj Pulsar had recorded high growth of 27.81% in the demand during October 2025 to 87,562 units. This was a 19,051 units volume increase of 68,511 sold units in October 2024.
TVS Raider, Hero Xtreme, Hornet and Other 125cc Models Performance
Another competitor with a powerful position in the given segment is TVS Raider. It recorded a 9.64% YoY increase in the demand to 56,085 units in the last month which was a huge improvement against 51,153 units sold in the last month of last year. The arch competitor of TVS Raider in the 125cc bikes market, Hero Glamour also recorded increased demand of 28823 units, which was 18.34 percent higher than the 24356 units in Oct 2024. This was superseded by the Hero Xtreme 125R, having sold 24,582 units followed by a 38.14 percent year on year reduction of 39,735 units sold last year.
Hero Splendor, Honda Hornet, Bajaj Freedom The 125cc motorcycle segment had Hero Splendor at No. 6 with 18,566 units sales. It experienced 40.33% yoy decrease in unit sales of 31,112 in Oct 2024. Honda Hornet, which is comparatively new to this segment, was introduced in February 2025, and these vehicles contributed 9,899 units to the overall sales figure. Others were the Bajaj Freedom of 2,152 sales, a huge 92.84% decrease YoY and KTM sales dropped to only 6 in the last one month. This was an 94.50 percent YoY de-growth compared to 109 units sold in Oct 2024.
